Maximum Minimal

This kitchen was designed for a busy family of four, with the intention of maximising space. The large island doubles as a dining area with six new barstools. Ample storage is found in the drawers and in the floor-to-ceiling cabinetry. A tucked-away pantry allows for food and appliances to be stowed neatly away, out of sight, but easily accessed.

For the island benchtop, honed black granite was installed inside a black-steel frame to create a durable surface for food preparation and dining. Stainless steel has been used on the back bench and as an upstand, with marble tile above. White cabinetry creates a neutral background for the black island. A series of three, ceiling-mounted, black task lights adds a dramatic look, coupled with a decorative pendant over the eating area.
