Moody Blues

Chroma Interiors redesigned this Devonport kitchen to create one that encompassed the client’s earthy style. The space was in desperate need of an upgrade for this busy family of four. It severely lacked bench space and storage, so Chroma Interiors rearranged the layout to include zoned areas for cooking, cleaning and working.

The clients’ eclectic style greatly influenced the aesthetics of the kitchen. Drawn to moody colours, we used dark-blue tiles for the splashback. A custom blackened steel extractor was fabricated to fit the angled ceiling and create a focal point for the kitchen. Absolute Black, honed granite benchtops coordinated with the dark handles and set off the oak cabinetry. Open shelves with lighting showcase the clients’ accessories collected from around the world.

Moody Blues is not only a highly efficient workspace, it’s a canvas for my clients’ personal tastes and artsy vibe.

“On deciding to renovate our kitchen, we were advised to use a kitchen designer. Something we had never contemplated before, but are thankful we took the advice. Margaux came highly recommended from several sources and from the get go we were won over by her vision, honesty and cheerful can-do attitude. She showed a clear understanding of the brief and made the whole process not just painless, but a pleasure. Her incredible eye for detail, infinite knowledge, practical suggestions and hands-on approach all fed into a brilliant outcome. We are absolutely delighted with the result and do not hesitate recommending her.”
